A private college of contemporary art in San Francisco, SFAI’s history mixes experimentation and grit with history and tradition in wild combinations. Always pushing and never normal, students and faculty each encourage one another to test preexisting boundaries.

With no guidelines or hard rules to uphold, SFAI’s identity was like an ever evolving art piece, always adapting to what was happening in the studio, on campus, or in the air of art at large.
